Walter Baker Sports Centre

The centre includes a 25-metre lap pool, a leisure pool with water features, a waterslide, an NHL-sized ice rink, a fitness centre, an indoor walking track, and multi-purpose gymnasiums. Public swim, public skate, and fitness drop-in sessions are offered throughout the week.

Public swim and public skate sessions are approximately $5–7 for adults and $3–4 for children. Fitness centre drop-in passes run about $8–10. Family rates are available. Check the City of Ottawa recreation portal for current pricing and session schedules.

Skate rentals are available on-site for public skating sessions. Helmets are mandatory for children and strongly recommended for adults. Bringing your own skates is fine. The centre provides change rooms with lockers.

Yes. The leisure pool is specifically designed for families with young children — it features a gradual-entry shallow area, water spray features, and a small waterslide. The water temperature is kept warmer than the lap pool. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult in the water within arm’s reach.

Walter Baker Sports Centre is located at 100 Malvern Drive in Nepean, approximately 20 km from Ottawa International Airport (YOW). Stay at Adam’s Airport Inn (7 minutes from the terminal) and drive about 25 minutes via Hunt Club Road and Greenbank Road. Free parking available on-site.
